"Everything
I do" is better with Smooth Jazz!
America discovers Italian Jazz artist Sergio Caputo |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Sergio Caputo's U.S. debut Smooth Jazz album "That Kind of Thing"
continues to receive a warm stateside welcome as America is discovering
the talented Italian born SF Bay area resident Jazz composer, guitarist
and producer. The album, which features the joyous single "Everything
I Do", is enjoying strong radio support from coast to coast in North
America which is consistently increasing as the weeks go by.
Beginning 2004 as a relatively unknown artist to the U.S. market, Caputo's new release has launched his American musical notoriety in a few short months, something European audiences have been aware of for over 20 years where he has been the Pop Jazz darling of majors labels Warner and Universal since the early 80's. Caputo's work is receiving the kudos it deserves and he is poised to become a major player in the U.S. Jazz market, this time through the efforts of San Francisco's Independent labels Idiosyncrasy Music and the Groove Factory. Bravo Sergio!" |

BIOGRAPHY About the Artist · The musical career of international recording artist, composer and guitarist Sergio Caputo, who resides in California, spans over 20 years and began in Europe with the overnight success of his first LP release in 1983. · With a unique style of jazz-infused pop, Sergio's music defined an entirely new genre of musical and lyrical style that left its imprint on the European pop music scene. · Sergio's prolific recording career produced 14 albums and numerous hits released by major labels that topped the charts year after year with which Sergio continued his experimentation of new styles of musical and lyrical expression, affirming himself as both an accom-plished author as well as guitarist and performer. · Prestigious collaborations in Sergio's career include those with guest musicians on his recordings including Dizzy Gillespie, Tony Scott, Mel Collins (King Crimson), Tony Bowers (Simply Red), Enrico Rava and Danilo Rea, in addition to sharing the stage with the likes of Lester Bowie and other Jazz greats over the years. · In early 2004 Sergio Caputo released his U.S. debut Smooth Jazz CD entitled "That Kind of Thing", a guitar based Smooth/Contem-porary Jazz album. The album experienced worldwide radio and critical success garnering Smoothjazz.com's prestigious "Smoothie Award" as #1 Independent Smooth Jazz CD and squarely positioning Sergio Caputo as one of the Smooth Jazz format's major players. THAT KIND OF THING "That Kind Of Thing" is Sergio Caputo's first album entirely "Made in the U.S.A". It contains 10 guitar based Smooth Jazz tracks, a pinch of latin spice, lots of emotion and one singular ambition: to be heard in every corner of the world through the sole energy of his music. The project was born in California and was recorded over the course of one year with Sergio playing exclusively all electric and classical guitars and with collaborations by Bay Area musicians Rob Sudduth and Charles McNeal on sax, Mike Olmes on trumpet and Marty Wehner on trombone. Enrico Rava plays trumpet on the new instru-mental versions of two previously recorded tracks. "That Kind of Thing" was recorded in San Francisco and mastered at The Plant Studio in Sausalito. "That
Kind of Thing" is released by Independent Record Labels Idiosyncrasy
